Winter Fun in Victoria??

So the weather has been a bit crazy here on the Island and Blaine is enjoying it with the Pantera - it may need snow tires if this keeps up.

It's Still Alive - and KICKING!

The purple beast made its way to the shop this month with the intention of installing a boost control solenoid to up the boost.  With me it seems that jobs always get bigger than originally anticipated. While the car was in the shop I decided to re-tune the ECU in VE mode.  From past experience this tuning strategy with the Haltech ECU’s seems to result in better drive-ability  on cars equipped with overly large injectors.  After installing the boost control solenoid the tuning began.  After 4 hours or so of tuning it seemed like the car was hitting a rev limiter at 4500 RPM or so. Data logs confirmed that injector duty cycle was dropping down to 0% as would happen in a fuel cut situation. At this point tuning was halted until we could figure out what is going on. Stay tuned, 1000HP to come.

Summer Car Shows

What a great summer this was in Victoria.  Even though we were extremely busy building the shop and dyno cell we did make some time for some local car shows.  We were honoured to win "Kid's Choice" at the Queen Alexandra Hospital Car show - my guess is it's because the Pantera looks like a Hot Wheels!  Enjoy the pictures and if you require parts, advice, tuning or anything else car-related, don't hesitate to give us a call.

790.5 Hp at 13 lbs Boost!

On July 27, 2010, it was time to take a break from working on the DeTomaso Pantera and measure what horsepower we had gained with the work we had done. The last time we put the Pantera on the dyno she reached 737 Hp at 13 lbs boost. Since then we ported the intake manifold, installed a new ECU and did some other tweaks. We're happy with it but we're not there yet. Keep following to see what horsepower we reach next. A boost controller is the next item on the list!
